#111. Is it possible...

... for me to get excited about address labels? I think I just did.

#110. Invite Inspiration

I've always pictured my invitations being classic, simple, and lovely... Not boring, just traditional. After seeing the amazing invitations on wedding blogs/the super cool ones my friend Kim is using, I think I might want to go with something more like this. (I'm specifically referring to the green one in the bottom right corner in either in red (for love) or yellow (for happiness) or something similar...)

#109. I kind of, sort of, REALLY want to get married in Little Rock.

Do you think I'm crazy? Think again. It's flippin' awesome. It's the place where BF asked me to move in, and the place where I think I fell in love with him all over again. (I realize that a year into our relationship that it might be too soon to say that, but it's true. I felt our love grow deeper there. I said it. I'm cheesy.)

This is where we stayed, and we bar hopped and tried the local brew prior to going to see the Travs play (the stadium is quite similar to the Rough Riders stadium). Unfortunately, after that, we made the mistake of going to a piano bar together for the first (and last) time. BF is really shy, and they made him go on stage and be part of a serenade for a birthday girl. We left shortly after that. The next morning we had a lovely breakfast from this great little market and ate on a bench overlooking the water.... Then we visited the ever impressive Clinton Library. I could have stayed there for another hour or two (easy) if we hadn't had another place to go...

So, hypothetically speaking, my wedding is in Little Rock. Here is what I see happening:

Thursday night - We fly in, having shipped the wedding stuff to the hotel - probably the one listed above - and get started! Spend the night stuffing the bags for all of the out of town guest (i.e. everyone!) and bring them down to reception. Go out and grab a beer or two on the town and relax before the masses arrive.

Friday - Everyone will arrive in the morning. I'll get a massage first thing, and then once my BM's arrive we'll get our nails done. The guys can (hopefully) go to a daytime Travs game (hey, it's my schedule), grab a few beers on the river, go to a museum, etc... Around 3/4, everyone can head to the Clinton Library for the rehearsal. Since it won't start until 5, we can go on a tour first. :) We'll have dinner at one of the many local establishments - downtown LR has no chain restaurants - or, maybe, have our rehearsal dinner at a Travs game!

Saturday - Everyone gather for brunch in the morning - if we're doing pictures in advance, I won't care if my future husband sees me before I get ready! Then, the ladies go do their thing to get beautiful while the men-folk can go do whatever they want to (other than get hammered). Meet at the library at 6 to take all pictures in advance. Wedding at 7 in the Garden Room? Then cocktails and dinner in the Great Room. At 11 the party moves on to the downtown area at a local establishment. Bing, bang, boom.

#108. Cakes, cakes and more cakes!

So, we recently went to Arkansas (I need to post on thoughts of a "destination" wedding in Little Rock - we talked about how awesome that would be...) and while we were in Hot Springs we stayed at The Arlington, which is famous for it's Sunday Brunch. The brunch was a-maz-ing, and one of the best parts about it was the dessert buffet. BF even said he didn't think he'd ever seen me that happy before. What about a dessert buffet featuring cakes in both traditional and cupcake format?

#107. I found a new blog!

Guess how many people I know who are pregnant? Oh, I don't know, how about 5. Yes. 5 people I know are pregnant. 4 of which I learned about in the last 5 days. I could make a lot of these gems for parties - including one special one I'm having post-wedding for a good friend unable to invite many people to the event. :)

Thank you, wedding bee, for this gem. While you're there, check this out.

Update: Did I say 5? Ha! I meant 6.

#106. Poster Programs?

So, I was reading this post on wedding bee, natch, and it got me inspired. Whenever I go to a wedding, I never take the programs home (even if I am in the wedding.) What am I going to do with them? All I do is give them a glance over so I can calibrate how long I will be sitting there - sorry, I'm just being honest - SO... Here's what I am thinking. Wherever I get married, I will have two posters (think 2' x 3' or whatever makes sense for the space). The first one will list the program of events and the second will list our wedding party, thank the family, and pay respects to those family members no longer with us. Afterwards, they can be put up in a special place in our home. Swoon. I am loving how green and amazing this idea is.

BTW, you're welcome for the eye candy above. AND, the movie is cute if you like that whole cheesy-girl-flick kind of thing. :)

#105. Am I a thief?

I love both the wording on this invitation, AND the fact that they have pre-filled in the reply card. That makes me happy...
